Whoever told you need to wait for death to experience this ecstasy lied to you and is cheating you. This long held deliberately circulated misconception within Christianity needs to die. The transcendental state of Heaven as Jesus referred to it and as it’s called in Christianity has other names in other practices and faiths. (Nirvana, Moksha, Satori, Samadhi, The Tao, etc). It is not exclusive to Christianity, God does not play favorites with humans, he wants everyone to experience the ecstasy of paradise/enlightenment and the paths towards share many fundamental similarities. Below are list of articles you can use as a reference point to get you started and should be read by all readers.
Always keep in mind, Heaven was Jesus’ word for Enlightenment/Nirvana
‘The Kingdom of God’ he described as being literally within us is our reconnection to the Universe/God and is available now not after death. It’s understandable that atheists and people in general denial don’t trust something you can only prove after you die, which is fair, but Buddhism can be achieved by all even if you have no belief in any God.
People like to mark differences between faiths but they all communicated similar and identical ideas in their own vernacular. There are some Christians who are opposed to the usage of some words like mantras, or enlightenment however there is always a corresponding word within the Christian faith. Mantras are simply repeated prayers and Enlightenment is simply a spiritual awakening/heaven. Rather than looking for all the differences between the faiths, start looking for the overlaps and similarities, you’ll be surprised at the amount of similarities as opposed to the differences. As mentioned elsewhere on this site, despite Jesus using symbolic language and him using the word Kingdom, it is our internal connection with the universe and god within all of us but not a place with literal pearly gates.
