The brilliance of traditional spiritual paths lies in the fact that they offer a path to spiritual awakening and elevated consciousness without demanding the risking the annihilation of the ego or complete surrender of personal agency and personality. He taught that transformation could begin with small, intentional shifts in thought and perception, accessible to anyone.
For those who desire this undeniable proof of a higher reality, psychedelics offer a more radical path. They can strip away the ego entirely, revealing firsthand the divine intelligence and unity that Jesus and other gurus spoke of, an experience so profound it erases all doubt of our unity with the cosmos. But in choosing that route, you relinquish all control and personality. The ego dies, and the universe and what many have traditionally called the Holy Spirit, takes full command. This, perhaps, mirrors Jesus’ own awakening. I would not be surprised if, like many of us, he began as a skeptic, likely even an atheist, until a moment of existential crisis led him to seek truth with such fervor that he broke through to this higher plane, possibly through an intense psychedelic revelation.
This brings us to two roads on the spiritual path.
The first is the gentler way: a conscious and voluntary surrender of your free will and ego in thought, a simple yet powerful internal shift. You choose to let this spirit of the universe, or what quantum science will undoubtedly recognize as the Quantum Field, guide your decisions in the future and perceptions. This path doesn’t dismantle your life; it merely recalibrates it. It requires a handful of deep but manageable changes: choosing the universe and its spirit as your guide, forgiving rather than condemning, and accepting the radical truth that we are not separate beings, but one unified expression of divine consciousness.
The second path is the more dramatic and difficult one. When you demand proof or force an awakening through intense means, your ego’s plans and structures collapse. At that point, you no longer choose your life path; the Holy Spirit—or universal intelligence—chooses for you. This was the case with Jesus, whose awakening led him to a ministry that redefined the spiritual landscape of humanity. But such a path is not necessary for everyone.
The easier path is within reach, and it works. Take the first steps. Choose unity over separation, forgiveness over judgment, and spirit over ego. Do this sincerely, and the results will reveal themselves—undeniably, unmistakably, and powerfully.
