It’s easy for many to buy the common belief that Jesus was killed because he was a rebel that was a threat to the religious establishment at the time. However it is also just as, if not more, likely that there was systemic backlash towards Jesus for successfully teaching many people how to achieve a spiritual awakening from their lower egoic consciousness. An experience that sounds great to most when described, but some may quickly regret since they did not understand the implications and consequences of what this literal transformative and transcendental experience is.
While yes, you restore your universal consciousness and oneness with humanity and the universe and experience the ecstasy and joy from successfully achieving this. It also has a devastating cost and price to pay, as achieving this requires compromising your ego/free will by yielding to the ultimate will of our greater father/source and defer to the holy spirit for guidance. Jesus encourages his followers to make this surrender in his Lord Prayer, where you are instructed to declare “let thy will be done”.
The cost of one’s ego and compromised free will was undoubtedly not very obvious to some people until it was paid. This was undoubtedly one of the reasons that Judas betrayed Jesus as well, as there was more than likely some resentment about the price he paid for oneness and a spiritual awakening. It is a metaphysical price that not many can fully wrap their mind around before experiencing it first hand.
Compromising and relinquishing my lifelong cultivated ego/personality and much of my free will?
I’m sure he felt the cost should have been made clearer to those seeking a spiritual awakening.
Even now, you should speak to people who have successfully achieved a spiritual awakening for feedback on their experience, and the feedback and stories you hear will vary. Some will have happily embraced it fully, and some are not adjusting so well. It’s important to make sure you are speaking to someone who actually experienced this transcendent experience… As for many, they believe they’ve spiritually awakened (also known as being born again in some Christian circles) and it was simply achieved by simply claiming they accept Jesus as their savior. However, there are more steps necessary to actually execute this by Jesus’ own instructions.
There have been reports of some common complaints of unanticipated effects which include ego dissolution, shedding of their prior identity, which can be disorienting and unsettling. They may feel a loss of connection with those in their life, and an existential crisis as a result of experiencing a profound transcendental connection with humanity and the entire universe. The experience may be more positive for some than others, especially depending on how reluctant or open you are to the actual consequence of total unity/oneness with the entire universe.
It also invites questions as to whether Jesus’ teachings were deliberately sabotaged and manipulated by others after his death by those who were similarly not satisfied with the consequences and aftermath of a successfully achieved spiritual awakening. There is no shortage of evidence of Jesus’ life story and teachings having been modified, so I would not be surprised if there was systemic pushback towards his message and teachings much after he died as well.
