Please take a moment to appreciate the irony and hypocrisy of American right wing Christian nationalists who insist that this is a Christian country and culture built on the foundation of Jesus while also vehemently turning down helping the strangers in their land (immigrants) and actively refraining from healing the sick when given the opportunity (anti government subsidized healthcare/universal healthcare) in the shutting down of government programs designed to help the poor, the sick, the homeless, etc because it reeks of “communism” despite Jesus openly advocating for proactive initiatives to helping out the suffering and least among us.
Jesus’ story of the Good Samaritan which illustrates and teaches the lesson of helping out and loving your neighbor is very direct, yet so many Christian Americans actively and proudly choose being the men from this parable that chooses to walk right past the gentleman who had been beaten down and robbed.
It is not a judgement to say these Christian Americans are not being Christlike, it’s observable and objective truth that they are voluntarily disregarding the lesson of the parable I’m sure they’ve consumed at some point.
To make matters worse, most of the refusal to help their neighbors through government is mostly motivated by money and their unwillingness to finance that help as a society. This is despite Jesus saying to let go of attachments to money due to it being a tremendous block on your spiritual path, health and awakening.
This is due to any semblance of communism being enough to destroy a productive beneficial good for society for many. Communism and Socialism are dirty words for most Americans this is despite capitalism being a dirty word for Jesus. Not an opinion, his words and thoughts reflect this fact.
Christian Americans have some mental dysphoria to deal with and have to come to terms with how committed they actually are to Jesus otherwise they presumably yield to what is arguably the faith’s symbolic father of selfishness and capitalism which is Satan.
You cannot serve both God and money.
You cannot be Christlike while actively rejecting Christ’s commands.
We should no longer be shy about actively challenging and calling out self-described Christians who are opponents of these altruistic and humanitarian endeavors by directly asking them “how would Jesus feel about you taking away food, healing and shelter from these people?” These same anti-commie conservatives are notoriously quick to point to the Bible to call out things other political groups regarding social and political positions they disagree with. Many times calling them outright Satanists, and it’s only fair that self described Christians are held to the standard they claim to hold so high. Regardless of your political or religious affiliations, I think we would all be better for it as a society.
To extend what I said in a prior article regarding race relations, with regard to fully realizing and exemplifying unity with humanity and oneness with the universe that Jesus taught. The more we marginalize and segregate people into different groups and factions based on any type of segregation, whether it be economic class, race, or any other classification. The more we destroy one of the most vital and important steps to actually becoming a nation based on Christian teachings and values which is being welcoming and loving to all your neighbors. Any social division whether it’s casual or systemic flies in the face of what Jesus taught. The hypocrisy definitely goes back a long way, with white Christians fleeing their neighborhoods the moment other races began to appear in the early to mid 20th century, contradicting the very teachings of their Sunday lessons. It’s a hypocrisy that needs to end. Not just for the sake of adherence to Christian law but the total welfare and harmony of human civilization as a whole.
